Teresa Anne Petricka, age 73, passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2023 in Hendersonville, NC.
Teresa was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend.
Born to Allen Melton and Marcella Bane on August 12, 1950, in Asheville, NC.
Teresa will be remembered for her kindness, generosity, and for the love and devotion she showed her family. Teresa was a graduate of Owen High School in 1968. Teresa worked throughout her life as a civil servant with the US Forest Service, US Postal Service and retired with the Veterans Medical Center, but she dedicated her life to her family and friends and was guided throughout her life by her faith in Jesus. Teresa lived across the US with her family and husband, who is a retired US Marine, but her beautiful smile was always present when she was in the mountains of Western NC.
Her life was a living example of her favorite bible verse, Psalm 121:1- "I lift up my eyes to the hills, where does my help come? My help comes from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth."
Teresa is survived by her husband of 37 years, Tim Petricka, her four children Eric, Matt, Sara and Alex along with 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Teresa was a loving sister and is survived by her brother and sisters, Linda Melton, Marcia Bartlett, Cella Taylor, and Jimmy Love, along with her many nieces and nephews who she loved deeply.
A celebration of Teresa's life service will be held on Sunday September 17th at 3pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church on 17 Shawnee Trail, Asheville NC 28805. All of those she loved and touched deeply are invited to join us as we celebrate her life.
