Bernice Dorothy Hoppmann (nee Knorr; formerly Focht), of Sun City, Arizona, and formerly of Fremont, Nebraska, died on April 12, 2014, at Cook Health Care Nursing Home in Youngtown, Arizona. She was the daughter of Walter and Frieda (Fehlhafer) Knorr, born in Waco, Nebraska on May 30, 1938.

Bernice, also known as Bernie, was baptized at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Utica, Nebraska in 1938, and confirmed there in 1951.

In 1953, Bernice moved with her parents and brothers from Utica to Fremont, Nebraska where she attended and graduated from Fremont Senior High School in the Class of 1956.

Bernice married her former husband, Leslie Focht, on December 17, 1955, and they had five children.

In 1973, Bernice married Dave Hoppmann. In the summer of 1979, Bernice, Dave, and Bernice's two youngest children moved from Fremont, Nebraska, to Phoenix, Arizona. They later moved to Glendale, Arizona, where Bernice and Dave worked together as property managers. They also lived in Peoria and Youngtown where Bernice began selling real estate. Dave ran a carpet cleaning business. Eventually Bernice and Dave settled in Sun City, Arizona.

At the age of 67, Bernice studied for and took her broker's test, passing the first time and becoming a real estate broker. In her later years, Bernice worked as a broker alongside her youngest daughter, who was also in real estate.

In 2009, Bernice and Dave became members of Evangel Church Assembly of God in Sun City, Arizona. Bernice enjoyed her church family there and also enjoyed returning to Utica, Nebraska for family reunions.

Bernice was preceded in death by her husband, Dave, also of Sun City, Arizona, and her parents, Walter and Frieda (Fehlhafer) Knorr of Midland, Texas.

Bernice's survivors include her five children: Mitchell (Judy) Focht; Debra Focht; Michael (Terri Vogt) Focht; Mickey Focht, Deanna (nee Focht) Peters, and their families, which presently comprise twelve grandchildren and about 17 great-grandchildren.
