Judy Ann Acri, age 70, passed away at West Shore Hospital, in Mechanicsburg, PA, on August 16, 2023.

She was born on February 18, 1953, in Harrisburg, PA to John and Helen (nee Coble) Hetrick and was a resident of Susquehanna Township, PA.

Judy was raised in the Harrisburg area and graduated from Susquehanna High School. She went on to earn her bachelor's degree from Penn State University.

While studying at Penn State, Judy met the love of her life, Raymond Acri, and the two were married on August 16, 1975. In 1976, Judy and Raymond moved to Ohio. For 23 years they lived in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas and had started up a sandwich shop called the "Submarine Galley". At the height of their success, they owned four shops and were proud to bring the taste of Pennsylvania to the people of Ohio.

In 1999, Judy and Raymond returned to the Harrisburg area. Judy went on to work for the State of Pennsylvania. She worked for various agencies within the state and ultimately retired as a supervisor for the Pennsylvania State Employees Retirement System.

Judy was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was also a devout Christian who loved the Lord with all her heart.

Judy leaves behind family who are mourning her passing, including her nephew and niece, Kevin and Natalie Fleck of Marysville, PA, two grand nieces, Kelci Fleck of Harrisburg and Hannah Fleck of Newport, PA, and her sister-in-law Barbara (William) Abney of Springboro, Ohio. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law, Dr. Joseph T. Acri, who helped care for her in her final years and will sorely miss her company and their wonderful conversations. She is also survived by several cousins.

Judy is enjoying a heavenly reunion with her husband, Raymond, her parents, and her sister, Sharon House.

A service to celebrate Judy's life will be held on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, at 2:00 PM, at the Hetrick-Bitner Funeral Home, 3125 Walnut Street, Harrisburg, PA 17109. A private interment is planned at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, in Harrisburg.
