Littleton, IL - Virgil Verne Campbell, 84, of Littleton died Thursday, Sept. 23, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield.
Born Dec. 11, 1919, in Schuyler County to Valentine and Julia Croxton Campbell, he married Evelyne May Primus in 1948 in Sandwich. She died Dec. 25, 1979.
He also was preceded in death by one infant daughter, Virginia Irene; four sisters; and two brothers.
Surviving are two sons, Harold of Beardstown and Gary of Littleton; one daughter, Dianne Cordrey of Decatur; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one brother, Harold of Rushville; and one sister, Dorothy Peacock of Pekin.
He formerly worked for CB&Q Railroad for 14 years and also farmed in Schuyler County.
Cremation will be accorded and burial will be in Littleton Cemetery at a later date.
