Alfredo Evora Aguinaldo, Jr. passed way under hospice care on August 13, 2023. Alfredo was born in the Philippines on August 6, 1934 to Alfredo Aguinaldo Sr. and Carmen Evora Aguinaldo. He received a BSEE degree in 1953 (Mapúa Institute of Technology , Philippines) and a BSIE degree in 1967 (National University, Philippines). He pursued additional training throughout his career with specialized coursework in Space Data Systems (CREI, Washington, DC), graduate coursework in Electrical and Computer Engineering (University of Southern California, Los Angeles, CA); and was self-taught in several computer programming languages. His early career included planning and developing U.S. naval air bases and radio communication systems in the Philippines; and mapping and developing defense satellite communications systems (MINITRAK and SECOR) for the U.S. government. After immigrating with his family to California in 1969, his career path included working for the petroleum industry managing offshore drilling operations and designing pipeline transportation systems domestically and in the European North Sea, Middle East and Southeast Asia. After semi-retiring in 2000, he continued consulting for petroleum, nuclear energy, water treatment and mass transportation industries before fully retiring in 2012.

Alfredo was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lilith; sons Armand and Alfredo; and brothers Orlando, Carmelito and Hernani. He leaves behind daughters Anna Marie, Maribelle and Marilou; son-in-law Bruce Waggoner; brother Philamer; sister Alfredita; and many nieces, nephews and relatives. Alfredo will be remembered by his family for his love of all things audio/visual, computer and tech-related, chess skills extraordinaire; social dancing, swimming and tennis; enthusiasm for Lakers basketball and traveling.

A funeral mass will be held 10 am, Friday, September 15th at Saint Thomas More Catholic Church, 51 Marketplace, Irvine, CA 92602-1601, followed by burial of his cremated remains at Pacific View Memorial Park at 3500 Pacific View Dr. Corona del Mar, CA 92625.
