Lula Grace Cruit Maxwell "Mimi" was born to Henry Edmund Cruit and Lydia Jane Truitt. She had two older brothers, Luther Willard and James Newman Cruit. She married Henry Morgan Maxwell on 21 June 1924 in Shelbyville, Shelby, Illinois. Henry and Lula had two children: Marjorie Rose and John Cruit Maxwell. They later divorced on 20 Sep 1944.

MAXWELL LULA GRACE was born in Kansas on April 29, 1905. She passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2003. Former resident of Columbus, OH, where she worked as a cost clerk at Kroger Company. Active in the Wilson Carlile Cancer Ray. Resident of Cooper City, active in Homeowner Association. Member of Sheridan Hills Baptist Church since 1971. Preceded in death by son, John Maxwell of Cusseta, GA. Survived by daughter, Marjorie Kaufman of Cooper City, FL.; five grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. Memorial Services were held at Fred Hunter's University Drive Home, Davie, FL on Thursday, May 22, 2003. Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary in Columbus, GA on Saturday, May 24. Family graveside service 3:00 p.m. at Lakeview Memory Gardens, Phenix City, AL.
