Thomas George Williams was a WWII US Navy Seaman 1st Class who survived the sinking of the USS Gambier Bay in the Battle off Samar during the Battle of Leyte Gulf on October 25, 1944. Of the nearly thousand crew members of the USS Gambier Bay, almost eight-hundred men survived the sinking of their ship and two days and nights in the Pacific Ocean. Shipmate Williams was among them.
