Fatima church member was music, art aficionado
Mary A. Gulentz of 805 Fairfield Drive, Hermitage, died at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2005, in the hospital of Sharon Regional Health System. She was 72. Mrs. Gulentz was born Jan. 30, 1933, in Coraopolis, a daughter to the late Leonard and Winifred Fitzgerald Wasley. A 1951 graduate of Sharpsville High School, she began employment at the former Sharon Transformer Division of Westinghouse Electric Corp. in the shop office where she met her husband, Paul Henry Gulentz, whom she married Aug. 24, 1955. He died Nov. 15, 1975. Mrs. Gulentz was a lifelong Catholic and a member of Our Lady of Fatima Church, Farrell. She also belonged to the World Apostolate Blue Army at Our Lady of Fatima. She enjoyed playing the organ and had a true appreciation for music and art. Her many friends knew she had a passion for sewing for her family. She is survived by: three daughters, Lorraine Gulentz, Hermitage; Mrs. Robert (Karin) Morey, Atco, N.J.; and Doria Lumpp, Brookfield; three sisters, Antoinette Ryan, Sharon; Eileen Phillips, Hubbard; and Loretta Wasley, Sharpsville; two brothers, Frank Wasley, Los Osos, Calif.; and Martin Wasley, Sharpsville; eight grandchildren, Erica Gulentz; Amy, Kim and Michael Lumpp; and Jamie, Justin, Carlie and Kevin Morey; and two great-grandchildren, Alex Zellefrow and Kylie Bagalia. Besides her husband, Mrs. Gulentz was preceded in death by her parents; a son, James Paul Gulentz; infant twin sisters, Winifred and Mildred Wasley; and two brothers, Leonard Thomas "Bugs" Wasley and Joseph Wasley.
