Lenard "Bill" Staton, age 73, of Kansas City, Missouri passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023.

A visitation for Lenard "Bill" Staton will be Thursday, September 21, 2023, from 12 - 1 PM at Newcomer's White Chapel Funeral Home, (6600 NE Antioch Rd. Gladstone, MO 64119). A funeral service will occur Thursday, September 21, 2023, at 1 PM with the committal service to follow in White Chapel Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers are Mike Staton, Scott Staton, Ryan Staton, David Staton, Thad Holtsclaw, Stuart Carpenter, Ashneil Lakhan; honorary pallbearers are John Burwell and Tom Morton.

Lenard "Bill" Staton, 73, died peacefully on September 9, 2023. Bill was born on March 29, 1950 in Fort Scott, Kansas, to Bob and Helen Staton. He grew up in Gladstone, Missouri and graduated from Oak Park High School in 1968. He was a proud Northmen wrestler and football player. He loved that school and continued to support it after graduating there. Bill worked in the printing business until retirement, where he met many lifelong friends. He was a huge sports fan, you could always find the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, or MU Basketball on his TV. Bill was a friend to all and was kind to everyone he crossed paths with. He loved his family very much and would do anything to help them out.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bob and Helen Staton, his sister, Cindy Beason, his brother-in-law, Steve Bigham, and best friend, Tom Morton.

He is survived by his siblings Bob Staton Jr. (Debbie), Marsha Bigham, and brother in law, Richard Beason.

He is also survived by his nephews Michael Staton (Robin), Thad Holtsclaw (Sara), and David Staton (Erin), and nieces Cymantha Beason (Ash), and Rachel Beason.

His visitation is scheduled for September 21, 2023, 12:00 PM at White Chapel Funeral Home, his Funeral is to follow at 1:00 PM with a Graveside service afterwards.

The family would like to thank the amazing staff in ICU at North Kansas City Hospital for making Bill comfortable in his last days with us.
