Elizabeth Jane Malarin nee Hall (Betty) passed away peacefully at 99 years old in San Rafael, California on June 24, 2022.
Betty was born in Ross to Edwin Stanton Hall and Sarah (Sadie) Hall on May 7, 1923. She was the youngest of 4 children all of whom have preceded her in death: Sally, wife of Col. Warren McCarthy; Edwin (Buzzy) Hall, husband of Carol and Francis (Frank) Hall, husband of Veronica.
After graduating high school, Betty continued her studies at Dominican College. She loved playing tennis and learning jazz piano which she played for her entire life. Betty was happily married on August 4,1945 to her childhood sweetheart Lawrence (Larry) Malarin, a B-17 pilot during World War II, and they had a wonderful life together for 56 years before his passing in 2001. Larry and Betty lived in many cities in California, Louisiana, Texas and for 8 years in Brisbane and Perth Australia. Larry was a Geophysicist for Chevron Oil Company and his job required many moves during their life together. Betty was a consummate mover, organizer and homemaker for the Malarin Family. She loved being part of any community wherever they lived.
After retiring to Marin County, Betty became an avid San Francisco Giants fan and was particularly fond of Buster Posey. Her all-time favorite song was "Unforgettable" sung by Nat King Cole.
Betty will be greatly missed by ... {names of living have been omitted}.
Betty, a devout Catholic all her life, has left an indelible impression of goodness on her whole Family including nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a refined, classy, loving, jazz-piano playing warm person whose motto was "Family First".

On Saturday, July 2nd a viewing will be held at Keaton's Mortuary, 1022 E St, San Rafael at 8:30-9:30 am
Funeral Mass at 10:30 am, St. Isabella's Catholic Church, 1 Trinity Way, San Rafael
Burial following at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 270 Los Ranchitos Rd, San Rafael
Followed by a gathering at 10 Pinyon Place, Novato
