Ronald "Ron" Lee Mooney II, 62, of Sissonville, WV went to be with the Lord on Monday, September 11, 2023, after losing his long battle with cancer.
He was born on October 06, 1960, in Charleston, WV.
He served in the US Army for 7 years as an E-5 Sergeant where he received several Army Achievement Medals and a Commendation Medal. His devotion to duty and service established him as an outstanding soldier within the military community. He served with honor and never forgot the dignity of the troops that he served with during his military career.
After departing the military, he worked as a mechanic at C&O Motors in St. Albans, served as a custodian in the Putnam County School system, and worked several years as a Special Needs Aide in the Kanawha County School system. He later found himself working as a CNA at Cedar Ridge Nursing Home in Sissonville, WV.
Ron was passionate about the Boy Scouts and was actively involved for several years serving as Scout Master Troop 75, St. Albans, WV, the Shooting Sports Director as well as being a member of the Order of the Arrow.
He was a devoted husband, enjoyed camping, fishing, shooting, and playing video games with his grandsons. In addition, Ron volunteered at the Rippling Waters Campground in Kenna, WV where he enjoyed meeting, assisting and providing area knowledge to the incoming campers.

Ron was preceded in death by his grandparents, Walter, and Elizabeth (Clark) Mooney, and Roy and Tressie (Hunt) Dodd, his father, Ronald Lee Mooney, and nephew Brian Long.

He is survived by his loving wife of 23 years, Tina, and his children; Ronald Lee III (Heather) Mooney, Rachel Mooney, Christopher Dobbins, Ashley (Jason) Legg, Carrie (Trever Foulk) Pettry and his mother Laura Jane Mooney.
8 grandchildren; Jacob, Christopher, Hunter, Jason (Courtney), Taviah, Lucas, Jackson, and Hudson as well as 1 great grandson, Dalton. Siblings; Paul Glenn Mooney, Elizabeth Jane Long (David Witt), William Roy Mooney, Nancy Grace (Michael) Johnson, Laura Lane (Bill) Chapman, and Mary Jane Mooney.

In addition, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He will be missed by his family and friends as well as his loving trusted fur babies Maddy and Dixie.

The funeral service will be at Long and Fisher Funeral Home, 6837 Sissonville Drive, Sissonville, WV 25320 on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 1:30.
Burial with military rites will follow at the Hunt Cemetery, Frame, WV. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
