Dora Mae Adams, 94 of Warrensburg, Missouri passed away Friday, September 22, 2023.
Dora was born February 4, 1929 in Clare, Michigan, daughter of Ernest Orton and Hazel (Keeler) Orton. She attended high school in Michigan. Dora was united in marriage to Harold E. Adams on February 2, 1946 in Flint, Michigan. Following graduation from cosmetology school, Dora was a self employed hairdresser until moving to Warrensburg in 1968. She worked at the university in food service for the years following. Her passions included reading, walking and family.
Survivors include her children: Paul Adams (Estrella "Ester"); James Adams; Gail Meyer (Larry); Nancy Wiley (Cletus); numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews; and one sister and brother. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; son: Gary Adams; daughter: Laurie Adams Bragg; and many siblings.
Funeral Services are scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 28, 2023 at Williams Funeral Chapel in Warrensburg, Missouri with Pastor Donald Gill officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Warrensburg. Pallbearers will be Reese Adams, Matthew Adams, Jacob Hylton, Jed Adams, Tommy Wiley, and Otis Hall. Honorary pallbearers will be Andrea McAtee, Tina Adams, Caitlin Hylton, and Melanie Burford. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be left to the contributor's choice in care of the funeral home.
