David A. Goff, 76, of Vermontville, NY, died peacefully Friday, September 22, 2023 at Adirondack Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Vermontville, NY on June 2, 1947, he was the son of Robert and Hazel (Tyler) Goff.

David married the love of his life Diane T. LaMay on November 21, 1964, in St. Bernard's Church. Diane predeceased him in 2014.

David had been a life-long resident of the Saranac Lake area and retired from BOCES in Saranac Lake, NY after many years.

He was a member of the NY National Guard receiving an honorable discharge and a former member of the Saranac Lake Fish and Game Club and Saranac Lake Volunteer Fire Department.

David was known as an electrician, plumber, contractor, water dowser and just a regular "Jack of all trades."

David took great pride in his family and would go to the end of the earth for his "girls," their husbands (that he treated as son's) and especially his grandkids. Even the pets of the family were loved by Papa because he was always known to have biscuits for them. His cat Bella will miss him dearly.

For a man that never actually owned a hardware store, it was well known through the community if you needed something to complete a project or fix something, "Dave would have it" and the best part was he actually did.

Survivors include three daughters and their husbands of Vermontville, Morrisonville, and New Hampshire, and six grandchildren.

He is also survived by his two brothers and their wives, two sisters and their husbands, two sisters-in-law, and a very special young lady Kelsey, and many, many people along his journey that referred to him as Papa, countless nieces, nephews and many friends.

David was predeceased by his parents, four sisters Mary Ellen Keith, Anna Yott, Emma Keith, Lula LaBrake; four brothers Robert Jr, John, Thomas (Bud) and Bruce, a daughter Rebecca and grandson Kyle Begor.
