Schwartzentruber: Harold William, following a brief illness, Harold Schwartzentruber, 87, of Stratford passed away peacefully at Seaforth Community Hospital with family by his side on Monday, September 18, 2023.

Harold was born on February 9, 1936 in North Easthope Twp, Perth County, a son of the late William and Mary (Gascho)

Schwartzentruber. On April 11, 1958 he married Freda Yantzi, who predeceased him on Nov 27 2019.

Loving father of Randy (Diane), Sherry (Walter Lantz), Richard, and Lee Ann (James Sykes). Proud grandfather of Megan Schwartzentruber, Pam Reiger, Darryl Schwartzentruber, Shaun Lantz, Rebecca Lantz (Eric Schmidt), Nicholas Lantz (Molly), Steven Schwartzentruber (Carolyn), Ryan Schwartzentruber (Emily), Austin Sykes, and KayLee Sykes (Dustin). Great-grandfather of Steffi, Colton, Sadie, Hunter, Jaxon, Katerina, Ryan, and Nathan. Harold will be missed by sisters-in-law and brother-in-law Marlene and Roy Ziegler, Erna Flatt, Dorothy Yantzi, and Ruth Yantzi.

Predeceased by brother, Irvin (Marion) and sisters, Laura (Michael Gerber), and Mary Ellen (Amos Gerber). Also predeceased by brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Laverne Yantzi, Sabina and Jack Randall, Sylvester and Betty Yantzi, Elwood and Nancy Yantzi, Laurene and Vernon Bender, Ernest Yantzi, William Flatt, Rita and William Schmidt, and Wayne Yantzi.

Harold and Freda operated the Amulree Grocery & Variety store from 1969 to 1987. Harold also worked for the Kitchener-Waterloo Record until retirement. They enjoyed their many trips to Saskatchewan on his Harley-Davidson Motorcycle. You could often find Harold visiting his many friends at Wendy's Restaurant.

Friends and family will be received in the Francis Funeral Home, 77 Woodstock Street North, Tavistock on Saturday Sept 23rd from 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at East Zorra Mennonite Church, 16th line on Sunday Sept 24th at 2:00 p.m. Interment in East Zorra Mennonite Cemetery, 16th line.
