Gary Carlton Roberts, age 71, of Hendersonville, NC, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at the Charles George Veterans Administration Medical Center in Asheville, NC.

Gary was born on June 21, 1952 in Buncombe County to the late James Harrison Roberts and Lillie Mae Smith Roberts. He worked as a technician in the civil engineering industry and served his country proudly in the United States Army.

In addition to his parents, Gary was preceded in death by two brothers, Steven and Stanley Allen Roberts.

Those left behind to cherish his memory are his sister, Karen Watts of Highland Village, Texas; a niece, Kimberly Gentry of Trenton, Texas; and a nephew, Thomas Watts of Plano, Texas.

A Funeral Service with military honors will be held on Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at 2:00 PM at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, 962 Old US Hwy 70, Black Mountain, NC, 28711, officiated by Reverend James Lamb.
