The Lakin Independent, January 7, 1921:
Ida Adaline Bradford, daughter of Corbin B. and Nancy Woodward Bradford, was born in Clarkburg, West Virginia, December 21st, 1855, departed this life December 31, 1920, aged 65 years and 10 days. She was united in marriage to George Wesley Barnes, September 16, 1880. To this union was born six children, Mrs. Elna Morgan, Cairo, West Virginia; George C. of Clarksburg, West Virginjia; Wm. C. of Grafton, West Virginia; Annie, who died in childhood; Mrs. Pearl Hawkins and Nellie West both of Deerfield, Kansas. She was converted and joined the Baptist Church at the age of 13 and transferred to the M.E. Church after her marriage and ever lived a Christian life and was fully preparted to go home to her Master. She was a devoted wife and mother. She leaves to mourn her departure the husband and five children, her father, C. B. Bradford, Clarksburg, West Virginia, two brothers, J. F. Bradford, of Clarksburg, West Virginia and D. H. Bradford of Parkerburg, West Virginia and seven grandchildren, besides a host of other relatives and friends. The funeral was held at the M.E. Church by her pastor, E. L. Nicholson, Sunday, January 2, at 11 a.m. and the body tenderly laid to rest in the Deerfield Cemetery to await the Resurection Morn.
