Jerald David "Jerry" Balog, 82, of South Bend, Indiana, died Tuesday, September 26, 2023. He was born September 6, 1941, to John BALOG and Elizabeth HORVATH. He was a lifelong resident of South Bend. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Sharon Ann (WENDEL) Balog, his brothers Robert John Balog, Richard James Balog, and Jack Arthur Balog, and his maternal-half-brother Sherman Thomas Wilson.
Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After over 40 years as a tool and die designer, he retired in 2005 from Witt Engineering (in South Bend).
On July 16, 1966, he married Sharon A. Wendel in South Bend. She died September 21, 1990. He later married Mary A. Bennett.
He was survived by his wife Mary, by his daughter, his son, five grandchildren, and his sister.
