Jerry served in the U.S. Marine Corps. After over 40 years as a tool and die designer, he retired in 2005 from Witt Engineering (in South Bend).
On July 16, 1966, he married Sharon A. Wendel in South Bend. She died September 21, 1990. He later married Mary A. Bennett.
He was survived by his wife Mary, by his daughter, his son, five grandchildren, and his sister.
