Raine Caiden Balshaw went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Raine Balshaw was born to Colette Balshaw and Brandon Beck on April 7, 2004 in Webster, TX. He grew up in Pearland and moved to Friendswood, TX at age 4 to live with his aunt and uncle Celeste and Steven Golz. In August of 2015, Steven and Celeste adopted Raine following the passing of his mother, Colette. As their family expanded, Raine became an amazing big bubba to Myla, Ayla, and Tahlia.

Raine graduated from Friendswood High School in 2022. During his time there, he participated in Choir, Track & Field, obtained his CCMA, and participated in the Health Science Program while receiving his diploma. He spent his recreational time participating in All-American Throwers where he was a four-time Junior Olympian for Javelin. He also enjoyed spending time with his friends, sisters, and family.

After high school, Raine worked for Memorial Hermann Southeast Hospital with Celeste and his Uncle Chris working as a Patient Care Tech to gain bedside experience so he could pursue his dream of becoming an eye doctor. He attended San Jacinto College where he planned to transfer into the University of Houston for the Ophthalmology Program. He loved helping people and had a passion of becoming an ophthalmologist.

Raine enjoyed making his friends laugh with his fun personality, dancing with his slick dance moves, screaming at the TV when playing video games, pampering himself with facials, manis, pedis and hair treatments, and spending time playing games with his family. Raine had a deep appreciation for music and loved listening to a wide variety of artist from Frank Sinatra to Joji and could often be heard listening to them on his record player in his room. His favorite meal was Ramen and he loved trying new foods with his parents and sisters.

He was a beloved son, brother, "bubba", grandson, nephew, cousin and friend.

Raine is survived by his parents Celeste and Steven Golz, and his sisters Myla, Ayla, and Tahlia. He is also survived by his biological father Brandon Beck and wife Jenét and their children Gavin, Coralyn, Aelin, and Theodore. He is survived by his grandparents Monique and Maurice Christy Balshaw III, Bertha Golz, and Elaine and Tom Beck. He is preceded in death by his mother Colette Lorraine Balshaw and his grandmother Sherrell Beck, and will be forever loved by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 6:00pm until 8:00pm Wednesday, October 4th, and the service will be at 11:00am Thursday, October 5th, both held at Peevey Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Forest Park East Cemetery.
