Jerome Frank Krnavek, 82, passed over to our Lord on December 5th, 2020. He passed peacefully at his home, surrounded by people he loved and who loved him.

Jerome (Jerry) was born in Agua Dulce, Texas, on July 3, 1938, to Emil and Annie Krnavek. He spent his early childhood growing up on a farm with his brothers and sisters. He was the third son in a family that grew to six boys and five girls. Whenever there was a family gathering, they enjoyed telling the stories of those times. There were always lots of laughs when they talked about them, but most of the time on the farm was difficult. He was part of a family that made the best out of what they had, even when it was very little. It was on that farm that Jerry learned the importance of hard work.

Jerry joined the Coast Guard, and in 1961, after serving his time, he began to start his family.

Jerry began his family in Grand Prairie, Texas, in 1961. And after a few years, Jerry moved his young family to Corpus Christi to be close to his large family.

Jerry spent 20 years using his skills and expertise to design and build equipment needed to automate bakeries. During that time, he traveled all over installing and repairing machinery. He later became the owner and operator of a medical supply business in Corpus Christi. There he provided essential medical supplies to ostomy patients. As he began considering retirement, which meant selling his business, his biggest concern was that the new owner couldn't take care of his customers. Jerry had a big heart and did anything he could to help someone in need.

In the early 80s, Jerry bought his dream home on the Laguna Madre. It was the perfect place for a man who loved to fish! For over 30 years, he spent his free time doing the two things he loved more than anyone could imagine, fishing and entertaining friends and family. That house became a home that would host countless family fish fries and the annual brothers Fish Camp. When asked if it ever felt a little hectic with so much company around, he just smiled and said, "I like it." Jerry had two priorities, family and fishing, and he found the perfect home to take care of both of those.

Life will be different without the man who quietly acted like glue for the Krnavek family. He would never want us to be sad. Yes, he left a deep hole in our hearts, but we have great stories to tell of a die-hard fisherman with a twinkle in his eye. Jerry will be most dearly missed but never forgotten. He will live in our hearts and minds and be spoken of often.

Jerry is survived by his children; his grandchildren; and his great-grandson. He leaves behind the four remaining Krnavek brothers, a sister, brothers-in-law, sisters- in-law, countless nieces, nephews, and friends. Rest in Peace, Brother.

Services are scheduled for Friday, December 11, 2020, at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. The Rosary will begin at 11:00 am followed by a Funeral Mass. Burial will be at Seaside Memorial Park.
