BAREFOOT - Bertha "Bert" L. went home to be with her Lord and Savior, surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 03, 2023. On this day, October 3, 1959, she married the love of her life, Nathan R. Barefoot. They are finally reunited on their 64th wedding anniversary.

Bert was born on August 22, 1939 to the late Louis and Mary Mihalko. She was the last surviving member of her family. Along with her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son, Jonathan Nate; a brother, Amos; and sisters; Mary, Betty, Irene and Nancy.

She is survived by her children; Kimberly (Daniel) Dicken, Eric "Rick" (Brenda) Barefoot, Kristal (Dan) King, and Linette (Timothy) Dicken; and grandchildren: Amber (Larry) Miller, Jonathan (Jasmine) Dicken, Nicole (Mark) Curtis, Derrick (Morgan) Barefoot, Caleb (Jessalyn) Dicken, Bethany (Justin) Williams, Matthew (Samantha) Barefoot, Kristen Dicken (Jason Hileman), Noah Barefoot, Nathan (Taylor) Dicken and "adopted" grandson, Cam. She had 18 great-grandchildren that brought her so much joy: Carlene, Daniel, Justin and Ryan Miller; Hailey, JT and Hannah Dicken; Chloe and Connor Curtis; Abigail, Joshua and Micah Barefoot; Cali, Jordan and Colton Dicken; Ava Williams; Emma and Macy Barefoot. Great-grand baby #19 is expected in March.

Bert loved her church family as her own and each one had a special place in her heart. Bert is also survived by two wonderful sisters-in-law; Mildred Heming and Agnes Mihalko and numerous nieces and nephews.

Bert was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

From the day Bert gave her heart to the Lord, her desire was to serve and please Him. She did, indeed, serve her Lord with all her heart; spending her days in sweet communion with Him as she became a great prayer warrior, whose prayers will be greatly missed by all. There is no doubt, her vial is full. (Revelation 5:8) One of the last statements she made was, "Please tell them all to meet me in Heaven".

There will be no visitation in respect of Bert's wishes. However, a Celebration of Life service will be held on Friday, October 6th at 2:00 p.m. at Peoples Bible Holiness Church, 922 Calvary Hollow Road, Alum Bank, PA 15521.

Online condolences may be expressed at http://www.geiselfuneral.com/. Arrangements entrusted to Mickle-Geisel Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made to Peoples Bible Holiness Church, C/O Daniel Dicken, 182 Sycamore Road, Fishertown, PA 15539 for The Evangelist of Truth Ministry.

"Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints" (Psalm 116:15)
