George Franklin Carson, age 89, passed on to the arms of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on August 21, 2023 at his son Rodney's home in Sachse, Texas. George was under Hospice care at the time of his passing.

George was born June 1, 1934 to Theodore and Gladys (Hill) Carson in Amaranth, Pennsylvania.

George attended schools in Hancock, Maryland from grades 1-12, graduating in 1952 and was the last remaining boy student from that class.

George's work history started with delivering GRIT newspapers on his bicycle in Hancock and also working at a gas station in Hancock. George also worked at LetterKenny Depot in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania when he met Audrey Fink (his little Dutch girl) of Crystal Spring, Pennsylvania in late 1952.

George and Audrey were very young when they married in 1954. They had almost 57 years together before Audrey passed in 2011. George and Audrey had moved to Baltimore, Maryland where George was working at garages in the automobile field. In 1961, George, Audrey and their two sons, Randy and Daniel moved to Garland, Texas. George worked for Firestone, Braniff Airlines, until their closure, the American Airlines until he retired. By this time they had a third son, Rodney. George, Audrey and sons always attended church. They helped establish more than one church in the Garland and surrounding area.

Cars were always high on George's list, having owned many over the years. He had his own garage at home where he did customized works on many different kinds of vehicles.

George was generous and helpful, a truly good Christian man. He has many friends in Texas from his church, work and car connections. Many people from the Tri-State Area know and remember George from his numerous visits to the area.

George was preceded in death by his wife Audrey; sons Randy and Daniel; his parents and sister Darlene Truax.

He is survived by his son Rodney, his sister Jean (Bill) Stickley from Las Vegas, Nevada; brother Robert Carson of Pectonville, Maryland, and brother Bill (Jeanie) Carson from Berkeley Springs, West Virginia; six grandchildren and several great grandchildren, five sister in laws, two brother in laws, numerous nieces and nephews as well as many friends too numerous to count.

A memorial service will be held at George's childhood church, Amaranth Church of the Brethren, Warfordsburg, Pennsylvania on October 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. Visitation and light lunch to follow. Internment will be at the Amaranth Church Cemetery, adjacent to the church.
