Linda Rose Boyd, 81, of Durham, North Carolina peacefully passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 4, 2023. She was born to the late Orvis and Evelyn Edmondson. At a young age Mr. Edmondson was killed proudly serving his country in World War II at The Battle of the Bulge. From there Alston Wynne married Evelyn and lovingly cared for Linda and her sister.
Mrs. Boyd was a longtime and faithful member of Lowe's Grove Baptist Church. She worked as an Executive Assistant at RTI for over 30 years until her retirement. Linda was a devout Christian who was friendly, thoughtful, loving and caring. She will be remembered as beautiful woman inside and out.
Linda is preceded in death by her parents; the love of her life and husband of 48 years, Donald "Don" Boyd and her sister, Judy Wynne Emory.
Mrs. Boyd is survived by her special and beloved cousin, Terri Wade; cousin, Pat Murray; brother-in-law, Neil Boyd and his wife Sharon and 2 Nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at Raleigh Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 7501 Glenwood Ave., Raleigh, NC 27612. Entombment will follow in the Mausoleum. Officiating will be Dr. Jim Baggett. Prior to the service the family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 A.M.
