Ventura County Star (CA) September 10, 1998 > Florence Evelyn Alsup, 89, of Alhambra and previously of Westlake Village passed away September 7, 1998. She was born October 18, 1908 in New Mexico. Our mother, grandmother, and aunt will always be cherished for her endless gifts of love. She lived the words "It is more blessed to give than receive." In all her associations she inspired excellence by example, promoted cheer through her humor and wit, made her house a home embracing all through warmth and love. She served Christ life-long with joy and dedication joining her husband Charles as founding members of the Westminster Presbyterian Church. A 59 year member of PEO "Flo" supported its goals especially women in education. All who knew her will miss her but shall forever be thankful to God, the sweet Savior for her life. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Ann and Jim Krekow; granddaughter, Rebecca; grandson Martin and his wife Heidi Krekow; son and daughter-in-law John and Carole Alsup; grandson, Daniel and his wife Heidi Alsup; brothers, Ross Conner and wife Juanita and Edward Conner and wife Mary; and numbeous nieces and nephews. A service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 10, at Westminster Presbyterian Church in Westlake Village with Rev. Dr. Richard Thompson and Dr. John E. Alsup officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Florence and Charles Alsup Scholarship Fund, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, 100 E. 27th St. Austin, TX. 78705. Arrangements are under the direction of Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Mortuary, Westlake Village. {Her husband was Charles Clark Alsup, son of John Edward Green Alsup and Myrtle Omeda Clark}
