Married John Otway O'Connor Cuffe, 3rd Earl of Desart, on 28 Jun 1842.

She held the position of Lady of the Bedchamber (1845-64) to Queen Victoria.

At the time of her appointment, the Queen considered Lady Desart to be ' a very pretty, nice young person, & who I heard from the Dss. of Buccleuch, was anxious to be about me' (RA Queen Victoria's Journal: 11 October 1845).
