Roberta Taylor Obituary
Mrs. Roberta Ann Adams Taylor, 89, of Brodhead, joined family and friends in heaven on October 4, 2023. She left this earth surrounded by her family. Of late, she had been battling pancreatic cancer. Roberta was a devout Christian who loved her family and friends; was a wife, mother, Mamaw, and homemaker; and a business partner to her husband, E. J., for several decades.

She enjoyed University of Kentucky basketball and participating in local festivals, especially making floats for parades. She was fond of anything to do with Elvis Presley, as well as cooking, reading, traveling, movies, animals, and, mostly, a good conversation and time spent with those whom she loved.

Roberta was born on July 1, 1934, the daughter of the late Hubert Adams and Ruby Hazel Soard Carter. She wed E. J. Taylor on November 19, 1949, of which union came two sons, Larry Wayne Taylor (Ann) and Harold Lee Taylor; and two daughters, Sherry Gail Asher and Patty Ann Kirby (Ricky). Roberta had nine grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Those left to celebrate and remember Roberta include her sister, Betty Wilson; her son, Harold and son-in-law Ricky; her daughters, Sherry and Patty, and daughter-in-law Ann; her grandchildren, Erica, Abraham, and Patrick; Benjamin; Natalee, Neisha, and Seth; and Brittany and Jessica; as well as her great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and her husband; her son, Larry; her niece, Debbie Wilson; an infant granddaughter; an infant great-granddaughter, Adeline Sophia Kirby; and her brother-in-law, Bobby Lee Taylor and his wife, June.

Her pallbearers are Abraham Kirby, Patrick Kirby, Seth Taylor, Benjamin Taylor, Shane Cameron, and Brandon Eaton. Her honorary pallbearers are Junior Carpenter, Kayleigh Bartley, Jakob Bartley, Willow Carpenter, Eleanor Carpenter, Gavin Hayes, Lilly Cameron, Levi Cameron, Mollie Taylor and Izaiah, and Everly Kirby.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Roberta's honor to the American Cancer Society (ACS) or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
