Richard "Rich" Brent Marriott, 76 of Whitefish, passed away on Sept. 4, 2023, of complications from cancer.

He was born in 1947, to Gilbert E. and Helen S. Marriott in Ogden, Utah. He was the seventh of ten children.

He married Lindy McCluskey in 1976. They met at the Robinson Bar Ranch in Idaho. Lindy was coming to the ranch to start her first day of work, her mother dropped her off on the highway near the ranch and drove away. As Lindy started up the dirt road to the ranch, Rich, who worked for the ranch as a teamster, picked her up with the horses and wagon and dropped her off at the ranch. They worked together for a season, fell in love, and have been together ever since.

He was well known for his skill in the concrete business.

He is survived by his wife, Lindy; three brothers; three sisters; many brothers-in-law; sisters-in-law; nieces; and nephews.

They all loved Rich's fun, teasing ways and tender heart. He made many friends everywhere he went.

We'd like to thank the doctors who cared for Rich through the years. The nurses were very special to him, and we appreciate their loving care and friendship.

There will be no funeral or viewing, but we will have a Celebration of Life at a later date.
