DORIS M. PILGRIM, 83, of Resthave Nursing Home in Morrison, IL, formerly of Lyndon, IL, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at the nursing home.

Doris was born November 7, 1921, in Morrison, IL, to Paul and Ruby M. (Cobb) Nice. She attended rural Whiteside county grade schools and graduated from Morrison High School. She married J. Donald Pilgrim on August 10, 1940. He died July 20, 1993. She farmed along with her husband in the rural Lyndon, IL area until 1964. She then moved to Lyndon and became a postal carrier and Postmaster of Lyndon. She was a member of the Lyndon United Methodist Church and the Lyndon Historical Society. She enjoyed tending her flowers and working in her yard. She loved to entertain, and family gatherings and holidays were always celebrated at her home. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and friend, who will be greatly missed.

Survivors include two daughters, Judi (Mrs. Ken) Church of Lyndon and Deb (Russ Toland) Woolums of Hampton, IL; two sons, Jerry(JoAnn) Pilgrim of Davenport, IA and Ron (Mary) Pilgrim of Morrison; eleven grandchildren, Jeff (Natalie) Pilgrim, Jill (Eric) Teel, Jerry Pilgrim Jr., Kerry Church, Kevin (Carmen) Church, Kurt (Dawn) Church, Kris (Jennifer) Church, David (Jennifer) Pilgrim, Ronda (Brandon) Cooper, Roger (Brandy) Woolums, Ryan Woolums; three step grandchildren, Michael (Dina) Knott, Justin (Nicole White) Knott and Eric Knott; thirteen great grandchildren; Colton Pilgrim, Bentley and Brock Teel, Sarah and Kimberly Church, Kaleb and Kassidee Church, Kolton, Kody and Dillion Church, Carissa, Austin and Kayleen Church; four great step grandchildren; one brother, Warren (Mary Myrle) Nice of Morrison; a special friend, John Gentz of Morrison.

She was preceded in death by her husband Don, one sister, Catherine Workman, one brother, Ellsworth Nice.

FUNERAL SERVICE WHEN AND WHERE: 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 2, 2005, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL

VISITATION: 5-8 p.m. Friday, April 1, 2005, at the Morrison Chapel of the Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home in Morrison, IL
