Graveside services for Virginia Smith Mitchell, 76, of McIntosh Retirement Center, Quitman, formerly of Gordon Avenue, Thomasville, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, 1990, on 13th Street in Laurel Hill Cemetery. The Revs. David Haygood and Weyman Cleveland will officiate. Ms. Mitchell died February 18, 1990. A lifetime resident of Thomasville, she was born November 23, 1913, a daughter of the late Fredrick Sydney and Louise Allen Smith. She was a member of First United Methodist Church. Ms. Mitchell had been a resident of Quitman since October 1989. Survivors include Caryl Lathrop Mitchell Scott of Atlanta, Georgia, Virginia Heard Mitchell Rigsby of Thomasville, Georgia, Augusta Lathrop Mitchell Braswell of Bristol, Virgina, and Louise Allen Mitchell Watkins of Lakeland, Florida; 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. — Whiddon Funeral Home
