Thomas Carroll Bible, age 87, of Newport, passed away Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Baptist Hospital of East Tennessee.
He was a member of Clay Creek Baptist Church. He had retired from Stokely Can Shop after 25 years and he enjoyed farming all his adult life.
He was Honorably Discharged from the U.S. Army and a Veteran of World War II.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Martha Bible, and brother, Shields Bible.
He is survived by his wife, Juanita Holt Bible of Newport, daughter of Newport, son of Dandridge, one brother of Newport, four grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, niece of Newport and nephew of Newport.
Funeral services will be held 8 p.m., Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church with Dr. Craig Ward and the Rev. Glen Ball officiating.
Family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Thursday prior to the services at Lincoln Avenue Baptist Church.
Burial will be 1 p.m., Friday April 11, 2008, in Clay Creek Cemetery with LCpl Charles Roberts DAV Chapter 102 conducting military graveside services.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Legion Remodeling Fund, c/o Willie Green, P.O. Box 1001, Newport, TN 37822.
