As a young woman, she lived in Anchorage, Alaska for 2 years which she truly enjoyed. Marlene was a former employee of First National Bank (now PNC) and was also a homemaker who took great care in providing a comfortable home. She always enjoyed helping other people. Marlene was a fan of UK sports and the Kentucky Derby. She loved animals, especially kitty cats.
Marlene was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, George Schroeder, her parents, and her brother and two sisters.
She is survived by her stepchildren, Georgann Crawford (Keith), George Schroeder, Jr. (Stacey), and Jonathan Schroeder; brother-in-law, Jerry Schroeder (Margaret); step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Marlene donated her body to the University of Louisville School of Medicine. An informal Remembrance Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, November 11, 2023, at Atkins Chapel Church in Floyds Knobs, Indiana.
