Emma Lavinia Ridings Haley was the daughter of Oscar Dunreeth and Sarah "Sadie" Hewitt Ridings of New Castle. She married Walter "Pop" Leslie Haley October 14, 1922 at Grace Methodist Church in Wilmington. She was the mother of two daughters: Sarah Frances Haley and Lois Anna Haley.
She was a member of Eastern Star and enjoyed bird watching. She was a fond grandmother of five. She died before her 73rd birthday in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
