Loren S. Alger, 93, who laid out Pacific avenue in Tacoma many years ago and also laid out the streets in Buckley and Wilkeson, died Tuesday in a Tacoma hospital. He was a native of Massachusetts and when young went to Greenville, Illinois with his folks who came west in a prairie schooner. He had been a resident of Pierce county 60 years. He had a wide acquaintance as a street engineer.
He leaves brother, Harry and Logan of Seattle, and Russell of Shelton; daughter, Mrs. Harriett E. Genther of San Pedro, California, and another daughter, Laura Shelnick, home address unknown; 12 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, and seven great-great-grandchildren.
