Martha appears to be the eldest of the children of Elizabeth. She was born Dec 15, 1825, apparently in South Carolina. She is first noted in Georgia in the 1850 census, Marion Co., GA where she is reported as being Martha Watson. She,at that time was living with her husband, Perry Watson. According to BYU report, Martha and Perry were married in Georgia around 1847, however I believe this must have been at least a year earlier, since in 1850 they had two children, living with them. They were Philista (Falista) Ann Elizabeth, apparently named after her,, Martha's, mother, aged 4 and Mary Elizabeth (Mae), 2. Also with them at that time as Nancy Hart, age 16, who was Martha‘s younger sister.
Martha's husband, Perry Watson, was also born in South Carolina. He was born May 3, 1821, the son of Henry C. and Aner Watson.
Sometime prior to 1852, Martha and Perry's family moved into Taylor County. By this time the number of children in the family had grown from two to six. Besides Elizabeth and Mary, there was Thomas, Burwell, Ellen and Bethel.
Martha was widowed in May of 1884 with the death of Perry. She died on July 25, 1907 at the age of 81 in Taylor County. She is buried beside her husband here at Pine Level cemetery.
