Born in East Earl Twp., he was the son of the late John M. and Lydia (Martin) Zeiset. He was a member of Churchtown Mennonite Church of the Groffdale Conference.
He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are his children: John, married to Emma (Stauffer) Zeiset of Thorp, WI; Esther, married to Adam Nolt of Withee, WI; Henry, married to Martha (Stauffer) Zeiset of Thorp, WI; Lizzie, married to Alvin Stauffer of New Holland; Noah, married to Miriam (Weaver) Zeiset of Roaring Spring; Emma, married to Joseph Shirk of Dunnville, KY; Martin, married to Erma (Martin) Zeiset of Thorp, WI; Martha, married to LeRoy Shirk of Dundee, NY; Mary, married to Alvin Martin of Thorp, WI; Lydia, married to James Martin of Himrod, NY; Amos, married to Ruth (Martin) Zeiset of Narvon; Elsie, married to Walter Newswanger of Plattville, WI; Eva, married to LeRoy Kilmer of Withee, WI; and Leroy, married to Louella (Zimmerman) Zeiset of Thorp, WI; 93 grandchildren and 182 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his sisters: Mary, married to Mahlon Horning, and Emma, married to John Horst, both of East Earl; Alta Sauder of Shippensburg; Martha, married to Noah Martin of New Holland; Lydia Nolt of Kutztown; Mabel, married to Abram Martin of Latham, MO; Laura, married to Leroy Zimmerman of Ephrata; Vera, married to Levi Leid of East Earl; Eva, married to Isaac Martin of Fortuna, MO; Esther, married to Allen Weaver of East Earl; and Lena, married to Abram Ringler of Narvon; and brothers: Aaron, married to Margaret (Reiff) Zeiset of Leola; Eli, married to Anna (Martin) Zeiset, and Paul, married to Leah (Zimmerman) Zeiset, both of East Earl; Jonas, married to Anna (Nolt) Zeiset of Narvon; and Ivan, married to Naomi (Ringler) Zeiset of East Earl.
He was preceded in death by a grandson, five great-grandchildren, and sisters, Anna Weaver and Edna Zeiset, and brothers, Phares and John J. Zeiset.
His funeral will be held on Friday, April 18, 2008, at 9:30 a.m. at the Churchtown Mennonite Church, Churchtown. Interment will be in the adjoining church cemetery. Kindly omit flowers. A viewing will be held at the late home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. The Groff-High Funeral Home, New Holland is in charge of arrangements.
