Rita J. Nazar, 84, of Akron, passed away April 9, 2008.


Rita was born March 19, 1924 in Akron and graduated from Garfield High School in

1942. She worked for 23 years in the Transportation Department at Weaver Industries.

She was a longtime member of St. Matthew Church, where she served as a Eucharisit Minister.


Rita was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Nazar; sisters, Mary Smith and Ruth Dietch; and brother, Walter Ess.


She will be deeply missed by her daughter, Kathy (Jim) Rine; sons, Charles (Virginia) Bakeman and Tony Nazar; brother, James (Barbara) Ess, brother-in-law, Robert

Smith; grandchildren, Charlene (Bob) Penn, Kelly (Scott) Finkney, Heather (Andy) Bosecker, and Dawn (Jason) McKeel; and great-grandchildren, Max Finkney, Madison Finkney, Ryan Penn, Carson McKeel, Casey McKeel, Winnie Bosecker, and Emily Bosecker.


The family would like to thank Laura Woods and Dr. Rini from the Cleveland Clinc, Dr. DeRubeis, and Marilyn Perkowski for all the care given to Rita.


Funeral Mass will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church. Everyone

please meet at church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Taussig Cancer Center at the Cleveland Clinic.
