Daniel Boyd Payne is one of fourteen children born to Daniel Blackburn and Frances Willis "Fannie" Tubbs Payne. Daniel and Fannie are buried at Five Mile Primitive Baptist Church cemetery along with most of their other children. Three others not buried at Five Mile are Lille Payne Thigpen, Martha Payne Terry and Joseph Sylvester Payne. Daniel and Fannie lived most of their lives in and around the area where these two cemeteries are. The old home still stands on county road 5 in Akron, AL.
