Son of Alfred Cardwell and Anna Cardwell

Alfred E Cardwell, Jr. died August 26, 2003 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston of cancer. He was 62.

Al was born in Des Moines, graduated from Indianola High School and received his BS and MBA degrees from Drake University. He was in the US Air Force and served in Vietnam. He worked for Bridgestone-Firestone for 31 years as a Chemist and Process Engineer. Al was a member of Saints John and Paul Catholic Church, the Altoona American Legion and was a volunteer for Mercy Hospice.

Al cherished time with family, friends, fishing, vacationing in the mountains of Colorado and reading.

Al was a kind, intelligent and sensitive man who had such a remarkable relationship with his Lord and Savior. He is survived by his wife, daughter, son, three brothers and two grandchildren.

Cancer took him from us much too early. It was discovered that an exposure during service in Vietnam to Agent Orange was a contributer.

Daddy, we miss you.
