J.B. Talbert age 85, passed away on November 4, 2023, in Athens, Texas. He was born on May 3, 1938, to Jeffery Balfour Talbert and Ruth Ellen Granberry in Red Springs, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Veda Ann Johnson Talbert; sons, J.B. Talbert Jr., Larry Gene Talbert, Danny Dean Talbert and Thomas Henry Talbert.

J.B. was a mechanic for Athens Brick for 43 years before his retirement. J.B. relaxed by mowing his lawn and working in the yard. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Athens. J.B. will be greatly missed by all who knew him and loved him. The joy of his life was spending time with his family and especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Mary Ellen Kyle of Austin, TX, Travis Lynn Talbert and wife Jody of Athens, TX; grandchildren, Veda Charlton and husband Shaun, and Patricia Taylor and husband Robert, Stephan Williams, John Marcum Jr., Jamye Talbert, Thomas Talbert, Danny Dean Talbert Jr., Jeffrey Talbert, John Talbert, Mark Talbert, Colt Talbert, Chase Talbert, Chance Talbert, Stormy Jimenez, Savannah Talbert along with numerous great grandchildren; brother-in-law and best friend, Bill Johnson.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Brownsboro Fire Department P.O. Box 778 Brownsboro, Texas 75756.
