Gail was born in Manhattan on Nov 26 1935 (birth cert #29123), to Jerome Jack and Helen (nee Rindrel) Trepel. She had one brother, Anthony.
The family lived in the NYC area when the children were young, then moved around. In 1945, they were living San Francisco and in 1950, they were living in San Diego, CA, according to directories and census records, but they had moved to the Phoenix area by 1952. Gail attended West Phoenix HS and Anthony attended Arizona State College, as shown in school yearbooks, which also show that Gail attended the University of Oklahoma, where she was a member of Sigma Delta Tau Sorority and where she met Wallace Mann, a member of Sigma Alpha Mu. She and Wallace were engaged to be married in the summer of 1955, according to an article in the Atlanta (GA) Journal newspaper, where her parents were living at the time. Gail and Wallace were living in New Orleans in 1967, according to her father's obituary in the Palo Alto, CA. "Peninsula Times." Polk's Greater Dallas City Directory of 1973 show them living in Dallas, where Wallace had attended Forest Ave. High School. They were still living in Dallas in 2020 on High Oaks Circle.
