Nell was a homemaker most of her life, devoted to caring for family, friends and church. She was a longtime member of Lake Park Methodist Church and became a member of Wrights Chapel Methodist Church in later years. In her last years, Mrs. Coody resided at Langdale Place. The family would like to thank The Langdale Place Staff and residents for the comfort, care, and joy that they brought to Mrs. Coody during her years of residence there. Gratitude also goes to the people of Suwannee Valley and Haven Hospice for their compassionate care of Mrs. Coody in her last days.
Nell is survived by her son, David Coody of Dallas, Texas, son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Missy Coody of Lake Park, grandchildren, Michael Coody (Jess) of Ft. Worth, Texas, Jared Coody (Taylor) and Zach Coody of Lake Park; four great grandchildren, Nicole Coody, Jackson Coody, Tyler Ellis of Fort Worth, Texas, and Lane Ivey Coody of Lake Park. Also, surviving are many nieces and nephews, other family members, and three dear friends, Doris Holmes, Glenda Herring, and Gertrude Peterson. In addition to her parents and husband, Nell was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Lisa Stegall, four brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, October 16, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at McLane Lakewood Funeral Home. Mr. James Davis will officiate. A burial will follow at Lake Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at McLane Lakewood from 5 – 7 p.m. Condolences may be conveyed online at www.mclanecares.com.
