Vernon Jeanne Darleen Gilmore (my 2nd cousin) is the daughter of the famous World War II hero Commander Howard W. Gilmore. (See Commander Gilmore's history at https://vitter.org/familytree/histories/HowardGilmore.php, which includes a photo of his wife Hilda St. Raymond Gilmore (1907–1988) and their children Howard W. Gilmore Jr. (1933–1953) and Darleen accepting his posthumous Medal of Honor in 1943. Darleen is buried in the same tomb as her mother, her brother, her grandparents Charles St. Raymond (1875–1923) & Alys Guerin St. Raymond (1886–1958), and other relatives in St. Louis Cemetery No. 3 in New Orleans. In the photo of the tomb, you can clearly see Howard Jr.'s inscription, but the ones for Hilda and Darleen are partially obscured by the red plant. Their inscriptions have been verified by me in person. After the war, Darleen and her brother Howard Jr. lived with their mother Hilda in New Orleans.
