Edward Eugene Asper, 80, of Boonsboro, MD, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at his home. He was born on November 15, 1942 to the late George Edward Asper and Mary Catherine Wilhelm Asper. Edward served in the United States Navy. After his military service he was employed with Alban Tractor Company Inc. for 43 years, first as a mechanic, and then as a truck driver. He was a member of the Williamsport Redmen Tribe 84 and the Williamsport American Legion Post 202. Edward was a longtime member of Concordia Lutheran Church, where he served as Head Usher for many years. He will always be remembered for his boisterous laugh that could be heard throughout the building. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Linda Asper, and his daughter, Crystal D. Knode. He is survived by his sons, Edward E. Asper Jr. and his wife, Lisa and Robert A. Asper and his wife, Michelle, his grandchildren, William VonAlt, BethAnn Byrd, Travis Byrd, Robert Asper II, Erin Bitterman, Kaylee Barton, and Victoria Asper, several beloved great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Catherine Angel, Jean Haines, and Ruth Kemp. Family and friends are welcomed for a visitation on Friday, October 27, 2023 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Minnich Funeral Home, 415 East Wilson Boulevard in Hagerstown. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at 10:00am at Concordia Lutheran Church, 17906 Garden Lane in Hagerstown. Interment will take place immediately following the funeral service, at Greenlawn Cemetery in Williamsport.
