William J. Markunas passed away peacefully on September 19, at YNHH after a brief illness. He was born September 10, 1942, along with his identical twin brother to the late Walter and Grace (Lagoski) Markunas in the city of New Haven. He was a lifelong resident of Fair Haven, after a brief hiatus in East Haven. He is survived by his wife of 30 years "Sweet Pea", his 2 sons, his 2 daughters , 4 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. Also survived by his 3 siblings, along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and twin brother, Wally. He was retired in 2003 from AMTRAK as a work equipment mechanic. He was a member of the International Assn Of Machinists. A memorial service will be held Sunday, November 5, 9:00 a.m. at St. Francis Church, Ferry Street, New Haven.
