Phyllis Christina Sciscoe, 79, of Bloomington, died Tuesday at the Glenburn Home in Linton.

Born July 11, 1928, in Bloomington, she was the daughter of George Samuel and Fannie Lee (Smiley) Pate.

She was a homemaker. She loved quilting.

Survivors include six sons, James Ray Sciscoe of Sullivan, Delbert Charles Sciscoe (Lisa), Wesley Dennis Sciscoe (Camille), Russell Glen Sciscoe (Fredia) and Sam Sciscoe, all of Solsberry, and Randall Scott Sciscoe (Becky) of Spencer; five daughters, Phyllis Ann Abrams (Dennis) of Bloomfield, Esther May Bell of Solsberry, Gloria Jane Hewitt (Joe) of Farmersburg, Shelia Rose Stephens (Doug) of Linton, Sarah Green of Terre Haute and Marcia Cicci; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Harold Pate of Bloomington and Oscar Pate of Texas; two sisters, Mary Agnes of Oklahoma and Doris Marie Manning of Texas; and four in-laws, Kris Sciscoe, Melvin Bell Jr., Connie Sciscoe and Margaret Sciscoe.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Henry Sciscoe; five brothers, Wilford Carfton, Sam Pate, William Pate, Austin Pate and Jimmy Pate; one sister, Georgianna Carptner; and in-law, Julie Watts.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Deremiah-Frye Mortuary, Greene & Harrell Chapel, with the Rev. Anthony Warner officiating. Burial will be at Valhalla Memory Gardens.
