Jimmy Franklin Stanford, age 79, passed away Sunday, October 22nd, 2023, at Huntsville Hospital. He was born December 30th, 1943, in Veto, Alabama to Ernest and Roberta (Hogan) Stanford.

Mr. Stanford is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Joan Stanford; children Della Johnson (Bryan), Will Stanford (Stephanie), and Jesse Stanford: grand-daughter Olivia Leigh Stanford: brothers Glen Stanford (Linda), Stanley Stanford, Tim Stanford (Kathy), and Mark Stanford (Margo); sister-in law Kay C Williams; and several nephews, nieces, great and great-great nephews and nieces.

He is preceded in death by an angel baby; his parents Ernest and Roberta Stanford; In-laws Jake and Georgia Williams; brother-in-law Dan Williams and sister-in-law Shelia Stanford.

The Funeral service will be Friday, October 27th, 2023, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 a.m., with Randy Adams, Dr. Joseph Olson, and Will Stanford officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, October 26th, from 5:00-8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Pall bearers will be Bryan Johnson, Daron Stanford, Gordon Stanford, Greg Stanford, Daniel Williams, Charles Williams, Stan Stanford and Eric Stanford. Honorary pall bearers will be Drew Stanford, Allen Aldridge, Heath Gamble, Romen Stanford, Asa Aldridge and Luke Williams.

Mr. Stanford retired from Wyle Labs after thirty-eight years. He was a long-time member of Locke's Crossroads Church of Christ and loved his church family. He loved classic cars and Alabama football, but not as much as he loved his granddaughter, Olivia. He loved all of his family, including his in-laws, nieces and nephews. A real Mr. Fix-it, he could often be seen outside working on his cars, when he wasn't relaxing and sitting in the sunshine. He enjoyed watching open-wheel racing with his son and watching drag racing with his brothers. He loved attending Alabama football games with his sons when he could, and in later years watching with his daughter and son-in-law. He always looked forward to his yearly anniversary vacation with his beloved wife to the Smoky Mountains. In later years, he loved attending Olivia's ballgames. He especially enjoyed the many cookouts with family and friends over the years at their little house full of love on Hwy 72.
