Deloris Johnson was born April 5, 1924 in Union County, South Dakota to parents, John and Selma (Solaas) Abraham.

Deloris was raised on the family farm with her four brothers. She attended country schools and graduated from high school.

She married Delmer Peterson on June 24, 1945. They had one daughter, Sandra.
Deloris worked as a self-taught bookkeeper for Haward School. After Delmer's death in 1972, Deloris married Duane Johnson in 1978.

She had an independent spirit and will be remembered as being able to do what she put her mind to. She enjoyed visiting with everyone and liked making krumkake and lefse with family. Deloris was a lifelong seamstress and loved making quilts for her family. She was currently living at Sunnycrest Independent Living in Sioux Falls.

Preceding her in death were her parents, her husbands, Delmer Peterson and Duane Johnson; her brothers, Russell, Rolland, Delmer and Verdell Abraham; and her son-in-law, Robert Doss.

Deloris is survived by her daughter, Sandra Doss of Sioux Falls; granddaughter, Jordan and her husband, Patrick Hero of Fargo, ND; several nieces and nephews and their families.
