Oran E. Baldry, 86, of 915 S. Penn St., Aberdeen, died Sunday, Dec. 24, at St. Lukes Hospital.

Mr. Baldry was born Sept. 9, 1892, at Groton. He grew to manhood here and married Hilda A. Larson July 11, 1918, at Aberdeen. They established their home at Groton. He entered the armed services one month later and served during World War 1. Following his discharge he returned to the Groton area where he engaged in farming. In 1950 the couple moved to Aberdeen where they had since resided. He was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his widow; four sons, Gordon of Houston, Tex.; James, of Aberdeen; Dennis, of Missoula, Mont.; and Oran, of Houston, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. Lyle M. Krueger, of Aberdeen; and Patricia R. Booker, of St. Paul, Minn.; one brother, Russell, of Morris, Minn.; one sister, Mrs. Effie Vick, of Centerview, Mo.; 16 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.

Casketbearers were Cliff Larson, Alvin Larson, A.E. Pirnie, Beveerly Voight, James Morrow and Robert Larson.

Mrs. Kenneth Alerts was the organist and music was provided by Miss Carol Booker and Miss Janet Booker.

Services were held Thursday, Dec. 28, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Aberdeen with the Rev. John V. Halvorson officiating.

Burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens with military rites by the Sidney L. Smith American Legion Post No. 24 of Aberdeen.

Oran E Baldry was the eighth of twelve children born of James Baldry and Rachel Mingis (Purdy) (Pirnie) Baldry.

Oran E Baldry married Hilda (Larson) Baldry on July 11, 1918, at Groten, South Dakota.

They had six children. Capt Gordon L (Mike) Baldry, Lyla Baldry, James Allen BaldryJames, Dennis, Oran and Patricia.
