Rosabelle was born to Otis and Florence Laughlin in Jane, Mo. She passed away on Mother's Day 1966. She was the wife of Bradford O. Shelburn and mother of Linda Jolee Shelburn Reagan and Peggy Sue Shelburn Hopper. She died of cancer at the age of 43. She was a devoted and loving mother and, at the time of her death, proud grandma to David Lee Reagan, who was 6 mos. old. She resided at 1603 N. Locust St. in Pittsburg, Ks. She was the elder sister to Thomas Olin Laughlin, Florence Lee Laughlin Nelson, JoAnn Laughlin Howerton, and Otis William Laughlin, Jr.
She wasn't ready to go and wanted so badly to live and see her little grandson grow up, but her cancer was too far gone by the time it was discovered.
Mom, now you have 5 grandchildren, David, of course, Susan Lynn Reagan Piper, Richard Alan Hopper, Jason Wayne Hopper and JoAnne Hopper, and they have children of their own now, eleven beautiful great grand-children. We told them all about you. You are only truly gone when you are forgotten. You will never be forgotten now.
Until we meet again, Linda and I will go on missing, and loving you, Mom.

Rose's daughter, my sweet sister, Linda, wrote the following poem in 1995, she will not accept credit for it because she believes it came from our Mother. I believe, it came from both of them--

FORGET ME NOT

Forget me not, for I am there
In the beat of your heart,
On the wing of your prayer.

Close by your side is where I'll be,
Tucked in the midst of a sweet memory.
Don't ever think that the bond has been broken
For the love that I give is silently spoken.
As oft as you need me, as long as your years,
I'll bring you my solace and dry all your tears.
Forgive me my parting and leaving you thus,
A joyous reunion is waiting for us!
I live in the smiles of those children, so dear
And take such great pleasure in being quite near.
Continue to strive towards your goal and be brave,
Know that my love did not stop at the grave.
Hold fast to your dreams and your memories, too.
God's love and promises will see you through.
For God has allowed me to tell you this.
I whisper it softly, sealed with a kiss.
My spirit is with you through good times and bad.
I share all the joys and the sorrows you've had.
Feel my presence within your next breath,
And realize there is no distance in death.
Ask for my help and I'll answer your call.
Reach for my hand when you stumble and fall.
Run the last mile with a smile on your face,
My arms will be waiting when you finish the race.

Always remember, my love is right there,
In the beat of your heart,
On the wing of your prayer!
