She was the daughter of the late Herman and Lillie Orr Taylor of Walhalla, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, James W. Marr, who died in 2012 and six sisters and two brothers, all from South Carolina.
She is survived by two daughters, Janice Pressley of Dalton and Joyce Dorman (Robert) of Evans, GA; grandchildren, Jonathan Pressley (Felicia) of Calhoun, GA, Nathan Pressley (Laura) of Dalton, Diana Mintz (Jonathan) of Evans, GA, Sarah Dorman of Augusta, GA; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth, Sydney, Samuel and Mary Beth Pressley all of Dalton, Logan and Noah Mintz of Evans, GA; one brother, Ray Taylor of Walhalla, SC. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Inez graduated from Southern Business University and was employed by Southern Bell Telephone in Atlanta, and later with the Credit Union of Lockheed Aircraft Corporation in Marietta, GA for nine years. She and her family moved to Dalton in 1965. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Dalton. Her community involvement included volunteering at Hamilton Medical Center, Meals on Wheels, and being a Girl Scout leader. Inez and Jim loved to travel. One of her hobbies was snapping pictures while they visited all fifty states, Austria, Canada, England, Germany, Israel, and Mexico.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff at The Gardens and Amedisys Hospice. A special heartfelt thanks to Margeana Norris and her team of caregivers for the love and devotion to Inez.
Funeral services for Inez Marr will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 11:30 a.m. in the Chapel of Love Funeral Home with Reverend Phillip Cannon and Jonathan Pinto officiating.
