Funeral services for Mr. Leon Holt, 77, of Celina, were conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, August 27, 2000, from the chapel of Upton Funeral Home of Celina with Bill Threet officiating. Burial was in the Fitzgerald Cemetery in Celina with Upton Funeral Home in charge of the arrangements.
Mr. Holt, a retired store merchant of Holt's Variety Store, died Thursday, August 24, 2000, at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.
Born June 6, 1923, in Hilham, he was the son of the late A.W Holt and Annie (Cherry) Holt. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Comer Holt and Larma Holt; and two sisters, Lizzie Langford and Versie Fikes.
He was a member of the Celina Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Estelle Holt, Celina; two sons and daughters-in-law, Danny and Shelia Holt, Cookeville, and Lanny and Lori Holt, Manchester; three brothers, Johnny Holt, Indianapolis, IN, Buford Holt, Greenwood, IN, and Mayford Holt, Hilham; one sister, Lola Ayers, Celina; six grandchildren, Waylon, Jason, Matthew, Sarah, Samuel, and Hannah Holt; and one granddaughter-in-law, Darya Holt.
